Getting Acquainted with the Main Page

Welcome to the AOCI!

 

These instructions will guide you through the basics of getting around the website, seeing what others are doing, making new friends, sending messages, posting and reading blogs, and just generally enjoying yourself. If you should have any questions or problems, we want to hear from you! Please feel free to send an email to info@aoci.info.

Okay. Let's get started!

Normally, this is the page that displays when you first log in to the AOCI network. This is the "Main page", just as the heading suggests. The Main page is separated into 3 columns.

 

Left Column

The Latest AOCI News
This is an RSS Feed, usually written by Dr. Henry, but occasionally you may see posts here by other members of the leadership team.

This is where we will try to keep you abreast of the latest news that may affect you.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Birthdays
The ning system keeps track of members' birthdays and updates this list at midnight Eastern Standard Time in the U.S.

If you want to send a virtual gift to the person listed here, just click "Give a Gift". That will open a page for that member for you to select a virtual gift.

 

Latest Activity
This section displays all the latest activities for members in your friends' list.

Share
You'll see this button on several different pages. If you want to share the content of a particular page, click "Share" and select the social network of your choice.

 

Center Column

The center column contains a variety of resources our members can use to teach, entertain and share with one another.

FREE Bible & Evangelism Resources

 These are free resources we've located to help our members in their ministries of teaching and evangelism.

As we come across additional free resources, we may add to these resources or rotate them from time to time. Be assured, everything we list in this section is totally FREE to our members!

 

More FREEBIES from AOCI

 Occasionally, we will offer some complimentary items to our members as our way of saying thanks for their financial support. This section will change frequently or may not even be here at times.

 

AOCI Events  AOCI currently hosts at least one conference every year, sometimes two. We use this space to keep our members informed of our upcoming conferences. As this network continues to grow, we may decide to host other events. If so, they will appear here and we will post an announcement in the "Latest AOCI News" RSS Feed (upper left-hand side of the page).

 

[Members'] Events

 These are member-sponsored or hosted events which we have chosen to "Feature" on the Main page. These are not all the events scheduled.

To view all of the events scheduled by our members, click View All at the bottom of the Events section or click Members' Events in the heading banner.

To add your event to the list, simply click +Add an Event, which will display the "Add an Event" page.

 

Blog Posts

 The next section on the Main page is Blog Posts. If you are not familiar with the term "blog", it comes from the two words "web" and "log", a "log" being a journal of diary.

Our members post blogs covering a multitude of subjects from simple testimonies and prayer requests to in-depth teachings on the prophetic books or theocratic exegeses. If you have never written a blog, try it out. Test and challenge yourself to share what God has put on your heart. It doesn't have to be long or even relevant to anyone but yourself.

To view all blog posts, click View All. To add a blog, click +Add a Blog Post, which will display the "Add a Blog Post" page.

The blog posts that are listed in this section are those blogs which we have "featured" because they contain some information that we feel is relevant and of value to our members. Thus, this list changes on a regular basis as new blogs are posted and we decide to stop featuring some in order to feature new ones.

Check this section often. Our members have a wealth of knowledge and insight to share with you!

 

Photos

 This section contains all the photos that members have uploaded from this section since the beginning of AOCI. The default display is without titles and with the speed of rotation already set.

Move your cursor over the photos to display a toolbar at the bottom of the photos.

On this toolbar, you can go back or forward, pause and start the rotation, change the speed (move the indicator up for faster, down for slower), see the photo's information (title and person who posted the photo), view photos as thumbnails, view photos full screen (press Esc key to return to normal), share on another social network, or pop out the player into its own window.

To view all the photos members have uploaded, click View All.To add your own photos, click +Add Photos, which will display the "Add Photos" page.

 

Videos
 The last section in the center of the Main page is Videos. Members may upload as many videos as they want. We only ask that they be relevant to most of our members and not just to the person uploading them.

The videos members choose to share include music of many different languages, Bible teachings, conferences, evangelistic meetings, etc.

The videos that are listed in this section are those which we have "featured" because they contain some information that we feel is of value to our members. Thus, this list changes on a regular basis as new videos are posted and we decide to stop featuring some in order to feature new ones.

To see all videos, click View All and the first page of many pages will display the videos that all members have uploaded. To add a video, click +Add Videos, which will display the "Add a Video" page.

Check this section on the Main page often, as our members are always uploading many inspirational and informational videos! Please be sure to add yours!

 

Right Column

The right-hand column is primarily informational. This column displays on all pages.

• go to your message Inbox;
• view your network Friends;
• Invite additional friends;
• use Settings to upload a Profile photo and to edit your Profile on "My Page"; and
• use Quick Add to...

• Invite Friends, and
• Share This Page.
