Mocha with Malachi

Dear Gentle reader,

Today with your Mocha coffee lets consider our Lord and what is the Messianic hope in the Bible.

(Mal 3:1) Behold, I send My messenger, and he shall clear the way before Me; and the Lord, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to His temple, and the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight…

Understanding Doctrinal Extremes and that Mote in Our Eye

As I have charted the course of the Christian Church down through the centuries, one thing that stands out to me is how various religious groups have seen fit to emphasize certain teachings and practices above others. At times this seems to have been related to a response to external factors - persecution, the secular philosophy of the period, or the challenge of relating to the broader culture.

Lately my mind has turned to the… Continue

In recent times the word change has been popularized by politicians and has become part of our everyday vocabulary, and while we accept change as a constant, the real question is a personal one, how has your life been affected by change?

The only effective and lasting change is a change toward God through Jesus Christ. The bible states in 2 Cor. 5:17 "Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature." When a person comes into a vital union with Jesus… Continue

Please Pray for the USA

I was watching all of the pictures rotate through the main page and getting wistful. I looked at all of the great things happening worldwide in Jesus' name and thought about "what are we doing here in America?" To see people coming to Jesus from all of these cultures is so moving! We have members here who are dealing with populations of less than 1% who have ever heard of Jesus. Wow, what a marvelous work they are doing in His name and Hallelujah for the results! God Bless you for the great…

Don't Just Pray...Do!

From my Dear Wife Beth's Facebook post a couple of days ago:

"My brothers and sisters, if people say they have faith, but do nothing, their faith is worth nothing. Can faith like that save them? A brother or sister in Christ might need clothes or food. If you say to that person, "God be with you! I hope you stay warm and get plenty to eat," but you do not give what the person n…

Praying in God's Time

Sometimes in the Christian life, God's silence may be deafening. A believer may pray for weeks, months or even years for something without a definite answer from God. There maybe many reasons why God may not answer one's prayer and some of these have no relationship at all to the presence or absense of sin in one's life. -Elmer Towns…

Why when a christian family goes to a "church" and asks for help in a very desperate need would the "church" say, and I quote, "If you were a

member of OUR church we could help. But your not so we can't." Hmmm.

Thought the scripture said that we when Jesus is the Lord of our lives

were all members of THE church. There only ONE church. The body of Christ. Sad. Very sad.…
