FOOD FOR THE SPIRIT - HAVE FAITH - WILL SERVE - 05/19/2011

FOOD FOR THE SPIRIT

HAVE FAITH - WILL SERVE

Been a very busy and CRAZY year so far - besides going through a personal crisis that took a year to be finalized, I am still studying and ministering at a nursing home and state veterans home in Colorado. One of my little sheep (David) is on his way to be with Jesus and is on hospice care. It is hard to watch someone you know dwindle away - but it is also a glorious…

WHEN YOUR FAITH IS TESTED

Have you ever had your faith tested? Have you ever been in a very traumatic situation in your life that was so devastating and so horrible that you actually wanted to give up on living? Have you ever wondered 'why' God would allow horrible things to happen in your life?

Let me assure you that almost everyone has been through that type… Continue

FOOD FOR THE SPIRIT - 03/09/2011 - HAPPY ASH WEDNESDAY - SO, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?

FOOD FOR THE SPIRIT

March 9, 2011

By Rev. Janet Marston

HAPPY ASH WEDNESDAY - SO, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL!

Most people don't understand or care about Ash Wednesday - it's mostly a Catholic tradition - but is also celebrated by some protestants, like Lutherans, Episcopalians, Methodists, and so on.

So, what's the big deal? It really isn't a 'big' deal - but it is something good to think about. It's supposed to symbolize a 'day of repentance' - which… Continue

LOVE ONE ANOTHER

In today's world, hate and violence is so increasingly prevalent, that it is easy for people to wonder where GOD is and also, where the "so-called" Christians are. With all of the media showing the failures and sins of Christians instead of the good that…

FOOD FOR THE SPIRIT - 02/14/2011 - WHO IS YOUR VALENTINE? WHO DO YOU LOVE THE MOST?

February 14, 2011

By Rev. Janet Marston

WHO IS YOUR VALENTINE? WHO IS THE ONE YOU LOVE THE MOST?

Sure, we love our significant others, and our children, and our families - but, who do you love the most? Is GOD on your list? Do you love GOD more than anything or anyone? GOD commands that we put Him first. He showed HIs love for us by sending His only begotten Son to be the sacrifice for our sins. Today, let JESUS be your valentine. Show JESUS that you love Him… Continue

Wedding Ceremony - February 12, 2011

Blessings to my brothers and sisters in Christ

I had the privilege to perform a short wedding ceremony today - the bride and groom are both terminally ill - I know them personally from the nursing home that I am a pastor of - when they asked me to united them in marriage - I asked them why - the groom said "I don't care if I have only one more year to live, I want to spend it holding her hand" - that melted my heart - and of course, I said yes.  I made a short video slideshow…

FOOD FOR THE SPIRIT - January 13, 2011

January 13, 2011

Continuing the focus on the importance of prayer - sometimes, when I have trouble trying to come up with the words to say when I want to pray, I ask the Holy Spirit to help me. Sometimes, I will pray in the Spirit, sing a hymn, hum a tune, play a church song on the piano, read the Bible or just sit quietly and wait for the words. We can all be overwhelmed with problems, get confused, or just not know how to ask for help. Remember that GOD always knows what is in our… Continue

FOOD FOR THE SPIRIT - January 12, 2011

January 12, 2011

by Chaplain Janet Marston

PRAY - PRAY - PRAY - PRAYER IS THE KEY TO OPEN THE DOORS OF HEAVEN - OUR COMMUNICATION TO GOD - OUR LIFELINE - THE 9-1-1 TO HEAVEN'S EMERGENCY ROOM!  Call on GOD and HE will help you - but just like an emergency room or hospital - if you don't call 9-1-1, no one can help you - if you don't "go" to the hospital or doctor when you have a physical emergency, you can't get the help you need.  Now, don't misunderstand, prayer is not…

FOOD FOR THE SPIRIT - January 11, 2011

God has put on my heart to focus on "prayer" - especially with so many people having needs, trials and tribulations.  I, myself, am going through some tough times - but one thing that the devil CANNOT do - and that is, he CANNOT take my soul - we have to give it to him - and I am not going to do that - just like JOB, we shall all have troubles - but when we turn to GOD, we become the victor because GOD ALWAYS WINS!  AMEN!  HALLELUJAH!  THANK YOU JESUS!  PRAISE BE TO THE ONE TRUE GOD WHO…

January 1, 2011

DEVOTED TO YOU

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, dear Lord, hear my prayer.

My precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as I start this New Year, help me to stay focused on You.  Help me to stay true to Your Word and true to the calling You have given me.  Give me the strength to do Your Will in my life and not my own.  Give me the wisdom to discern the spirits, from right and wrong.  Fill… Continue
