BAMIDBAR (In the Wilderness)

Numbers 1:1–4:20; Hosea 1:10– 2:20 [2:1–2:22 in Hebrew Bible]; Romans 15:1–7

“Adonai spoke to Moses in the Sinai Desert [Bamidbar].” (Numbers 1:1)

The fourth of the five books of Moses, Bamidbar, which means in the desert or wilderness. While this name is taken from the fifth Hebrew word in verse one, it reflects one of…

G_D has a Lighter side

For centuries the "Church" has been, "Do this; Don't do that," to the point where fear ruled, but my G_D is NOT all about fear.

2 Tim 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Today is Easter or Resurrection Day where G_D reaches beyond the fear of death to show HIS power or love is much greater (stronger). HE demonstrates that the joy of love awaits those which receive the love HE first extended to us through HIS…

KRIA, the Moment & Celebration of Grief

[Scriptural references taken from the KJV unless otherwise noted] “But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) Tonight, Christians around the world will be honoring what many describe as Good Friday. At the same time, Jewish People and Messianic…

Hanukkah Sameach! Happy Last Day of Hanukkah!

“And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose…

HANUKKAH vs CHRISTmas

Jhn 10:22    And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

Jhn 10:23    And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

In the average Bible this is the only mention of the winter Feast of Dedication (a.k.a Hanukkah). For better understanding one should see this feast/HOLY Day and see how it pointed to The CHRIST, to the miracle of HIS coming to be the Shammus candle or the "servant" candle to light the rest.

The first thing that one should…

A Separate Name

Shalom,

(Ugo Betti was born on February 4, 1892; Italian playwright and poet, 1892-1953)

All of us are mad. If it weren't for the fact every one of us is slightly abnormal, there wouldn't be any point in giving each person a separate name.

Beginning of Love

Shalom,

(Thomas Merton was born on January 31, 1915; American and Trappist Monk t Our Lady of Gethsemani Abbey in Trappist, Kentucky, 1915-1968)
