What are you good for? When George Washington Carver asked that question of the lowly peanut, he discovered anywhere from 100 to 300 uses. They ranged from food products (peanut butter, candy bars, cooking oil, instant coffee, sausage, meat substitute) to stock feed, from dyes and paints to medicines, wood filler to paper to laundry soap. They are used as an ingredient in dynamite and nitroglycerine. They can be made into gasoline and diesel fuel (and would probably smell better in use than… Continue

This is a new year, Time for new beginnings
That means we need to stop and realize that we need to look also to where we are with God. you do realize that being a Christian is more than going to church.
I can not become a Christian by just going to church.
Just because I spend a lot of time in the garage does not make me a… Continue

Many have neither the idea that there has been a great controversy about the author of 14 books of the New Testament. nor the fact as some even believe that Paul was the founder of “Christianity” and that Paul’s idea of the church and Christ’s were totally different. Considering the deistic who would you believe?
Many people… Continue

I soon will be celebrating 40 years of Bible teaching, which is 280 years in dog years. Forty has long been universally recognized as an important number, both on account of the frequency of its occurrence, and the uniformity of its association… Continue

Dear Gentle Reader,
e go to the Scriptures to find the real Jesus. We do not go to the scholars, the academicians, the intellectuals; especially those who come to the Scriptures without the Spirit of Christ having been born in their hearts. For to come to the Scriptures without the Holy Spirit is like making bread without yeast; it is like marrying without love; it is entering a darkened room without any source of light. Look at the real Jesus of the… Continue

The following article was written for the blog that I have not started as of yet, CharismaticReformation.org. It is in raw form and still needs some revisions. It is a sort of mission statement to outline the purpose of the blog. I welcome anyone's feedback on it.
One universal element to be observed among the various social and religious movements throughout history is commonality of thought, a consensus upon what are to be the central values of the group and how those values… Continue

EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP IN MINISTRY - Luke 22:24-27
INTRO: Let me begin by telling you a story of some Frogs who wanted a leader. The frogs first hired a leader who they could describe as a solid log. Initially, the frogs where very happy with the “log” leader because they could Jump on the log, run all over the log, and the log was unresponsive. This type of leader is the “yes” leader. The frogs finally fired the log because the log provided no real leadership. Then the frogs… Continue

“You are a chosen people, royal priests, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession (1 Peter 2:9).
Do you ever feel unnoticed? New clothes and styles may help for a while. But if you want permanent change, learn to see yourself as God sees you: “He has covered me with clothes of salvation and wrapped me with a coat of goodness, like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding, like a bride dressed in jewels” (Isa. 61:10).
Does your self-esteem ever sag? When it does,… Continue

Sometimes we look around at other people and see how God is causing their lives to soar and we get discouraged. If this is happening to you, don’t be discouraged because God has not forgotten about you. Every person is different and God deals with each person differently. So, it’s their season to flourish in the things of God and the vision He has given them now but your time is coming soon. Don’t get angry and bitter at them either; it is God who causes them to prosper. Be honest with yourself… Continue

Happy New Year Everyone!
God encouraged my heart today when I got up, thorough the three events I will describe below, so I want to encourage yours.
When I first woke up, I was in so much pain (I have had an ear and sinus infections and sore throat for the last 3 or 4 weeks – been to the doctor, tried numerous types of antibiotics and used ear antibiotic drops to no avail). On top of all of that, I have been having severe back pain… Continue

What is Christmas all about ?
In today's world it seems to be about commercialism & getting more & more.
As I was recently reading the Christmas narative in Matthew's Gospel, it occurred to me that Joseph (Jesus' step-father) had the real Christmas spirit. The Bible describes him as a "just" or "good" man. I pondered this & the Holy Spirit began to reveal afresh to me that this goodness that Joseph had stopped him from publicly humiliating Mary after he discovered… Continue

Daily we need to take up our crosses and follow Jesus. Jesus said in Luke 9:23-25 and Matthew 10:37-39:
“23 And He said to them all, if any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 For whoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall have it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?”

I have heard many people make the statement, “God may not come when you want Him, but He is right on time,” this is a true statement; however, it can be confusing to you if you have not received revelation about it.
As I was making my bed, God begin to deal with me about the Scripture where Lazarus had died (John 11:1-45). Lazarus sisters, Mary and Martha, called for Jesus days before he died to let Jesus know Lazarus was sick. But Jesus deliberately delayed going to Lazarus until… Continue

Americus Times - Recorder, Americus, GA-my hometown:
Becky Holland, a Reporter for my hometown newspaper, The Americus Times-Recorder wrote:
"Dorothy E. Hooks has a story to tell, like most people. What is different about Hooks and her story is she has put the story in black and white. She has dedicated the story to helping women. It is called “UnHoly Matrimony,” with a purpose of sharing “healing for the abused woman.”
In each section of the book, Hooks… Continue

The Lula McGrady Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which was formed to alleviate the pain and suffering associated with domestic violence and being homeless; subsequently, “to build life to better the hurting and hopeless.”
The mission of the organization is to teach life skills for independent living to battered and… Continue

When I was in prayer praying for all of God's Pastors, Leaders, Apostles, Bishops, & Ministers, whoever is over a congregation of people, this is the revelation God gave me - paraphrasing:
If Pastors are in bondage and need deliverance, the people will be in bondage and need deliverance. Pastors must have the heart of God to lead the sheep in the way God says. They must love the sheep and be concerned about them.
I am sharing this with you'll because my heart goes out… Continue
